How to register new text sender ID to India
As per rules for using text sender ID in India, please register yourself on DLT. This is a platform that is implemented by TRAI, where all local clients need to login, enter all required details, documentation, and get the process done. Local customers need to directly contact the respective operators first before registering on the DLT platform. It is necessary to register with all operators on DLT.
If you are registered on DLT, then please provide us with the below-mentioned details for each template:
- Text sender ID
- Template
- Template ID
- PE ID
- Information whether this is a transactional/marketing template
As soon as the registration is completed (we will inform you about this fact), then it is necessary for you to whitelist all URL links and phone numbers that the templates you use contain. Whitelisting must be done in the DLT platform.
Note:
All A2P SMS messages must carry a specific suffix (-P, -S, -T and -G) to clearly indicate the nature of the content received on the handset of the end user.
All SMS headers (CLIs) will now include specific suffixes to identify the message type.
-Pfor Promotional messages-Sfor Service messages-Tfor Transactional messages-Gfor Government messages
Note that DLT will automatically update the suffix in the header based on the template classification during DLT scrubbing.
Example:
If the header is ABCXYZ and the template type is Service implicit, then the message will be delivered with a header suffix like
VA-ABCXYZ-S.
Here VA denotes operator and geographical region, ABCXYZ is header and S is type of content which is registered on DLT as Service implicit.
